MHJC has been in existence since 1969.
Are you egalitarian?
MHJC was the first egalitarian Conservative synagogue on Long Island. Men and women share responsibilities in leading services, reading Torah, assuming leadership positions in the synagogue and so forth.
How can I join MHJC?

How long is my membership good?
Annual membership is good for one year from July 1 to June 30.

What is Give From the Heart, the Sustaining Annual Pledge?
Give From the Heart is a Sustaining Annual Pledge program that replaces traditional synagogue dues, fees and assessments. All congregant families/members pledge a meaningful amount to MHJC. This removes all financial concerns about synagogue membership as you will Give From the Heart, an amount that is right for you, your family’s financial abilities and the value of MHJC to your family. What if I can’t afford membership?
Give From the Heart allows you to decide your Sustaining Annual Pledge. There are no more “dues”. You decide the amount that is right for you and your family. Everyone can afford membership at MHJC, there are no more fees, building funds, assessments or financial restriuctions to joining our synagogue.
Are High Holiday tickets included with membership?
High Holiday tickets are included with your membership. A family membership will receive two non-transferable tickets for assigned seats and a single membership will receive one. Tickets for children under 26 are also complimentary, and as a member you can purchase tickets for immediate family at a reduced rate.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Yes. The LGBTQ+ community is a welcome and involved part of MHJC. We welcome people no matter what their gender identity and strive to create an inclusive space.
Are interfaith couples welcome?
Yes. We have many interfaith families at MHJC, and they are very much part of our family. Read more here>>
